F12 Inhibition in SCD Patients
Experiments in mouse models of SCD revealed that F12 inhibition significantly reduced experimental venous thrombosis, congestion, and microvascular stasis. Thrombin generation and hepatic sinusoidal and renal congestion were significantly reduced in F12 deficient mice transplanted with sickle bone marrow. An anti-F12 antibody known as 15D10 also effectively reduced heme-induced microv vascular stasis.
