How Much Does a Care Home Cost?
When mamma and dad go into a care home, the children are thrown in the deep end. The typical carehomes i come across cost around 50 thousand pounds a year. So when you hear the number 50 thousand pounds, it does sound like a big number. But frequently they would have been paying, let's just keep it simple, 20 thousands pounds a year anyway,. So now it's gone up by an extra 30 thousand pounds. This is their new total cost of living. They don't have council tax on top. It's job lot. And as our population ages, i don't know if the age when people go into care slightly will do.
