In Japan, it looks like all of the big automakers have committed to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. The Japanese industry is so deeply invested in things like transmissions and fuel pumps that to switch over to EVs will simply cut loose a lot of employment in Japan. So therefore, they're focusing on a very broad front and this war of where to reduce carbon.
