The Incense Clock Burns All Night
The incense clock burns all night. It marks the passage of time via the scent of incense. Different seasons will require a different stencil because the length of the night changes with the seasons. These were noted use in Beijing's tall drum tower during the Qing dynasty 1644 through 1911.
