The Journey From the Subjective to the Universal
I think it's nice to have that multiplicity inherent in the material itself. And then of course this idea of a kind of personal subject matter underpinning pretty much everything. It seems to me is crucial but there's sort of stopping points on that journey if you like. So can one work occupy a point much further along that line and others be very much more personal or significant? Would you say that you always have to achieve a certain universality in the work for it to be complete? I'd say the latter. Because I do sometimes feel myself coerced into that space and I can do it well, you know. But it's just sometimes then after the fact you don't feel right
