We Can't Work Less, Right?
When you suggest to people from the US that you work less, there's almost this horrified reaction like, how could you do such a thing? What is so special about us as we're Americans and what is the deal with the US? Yeah, we're particularly crazy for one thing. This is actually seriously like William James more than a hundred years ago was talking about how Americans work themselves to death in contrast to sort of civilized people in other countries. And so I think this is something that's been part of American culture for a long time. It's definitely something that I have seen here in Silicon Valley, right? You know, you can talk to people about all kinds of crazy stuff
