The Complexity of Self Esteem

The attraction of self esteem is its complexity and how to study it. What do you think are the most exciting things that we learned about self esteem in the last couple of years? There's a move towards this study of what happens within people over maybe shorter periods of time I can imagine it makes for a good research fieldmaybe related to this.
