Leslie Whittle grew up in Wolverhampton, England. She was the only daughter of George Whittle and his girlfriend Dorothy. In 1970, her father passed away after a sudden illness. To avoid estate taxes, he gave three houses and 70 grand in cash to Dorothy as well as over 190,000 pounds to both of his children.
