The Earth's Axis
The Earth rotates on its axis every day. If you're standing at the equator, you travel 24,000 miles in 24 hours. This does have some interesting consequences to our weather and our climate. I did this thought experiment in my other podcast, Exolour, where I imagined a planet that rotated much quicker. Instead of 24 hours, it rotated once every 18 hours. And we imagined what the fun consequences of that would be.
