Is There a Problem With Acronyms?

There is a finite number of combinations of three letters. There's only 17,576. In medical science alone there are 18 meanings of the acronym. Binomial nomenclature has done a surprisingly good job for how long it's lasted - almost 300 years. The two major groups of dinosaurs were being named they were called Ornithicia or bird-hipped dinosaurs and sore-ishia which means lizard-hipped.
