If Russia enters a period of real trouble, that perhaps China's priority will be to prevent a collapse. I think what a more practically minded politician leader in China would think is that a Russian crisis or collapse would primarily be in America's interest. As far as I can tell, this is how they're thinking. his interest for Russia to become diminished. So from this point of view, if this becomes more active conflict between the West and Russia, I'm pretty sure that China would stay on the sidelines.
