The Sinclair computer came with a manual that taught you how to program in BASIC. It was sold for like $100 US when it came out. I remember we used to program it and we had a pencil with a... When we would press the pencil eraser with a tremendous amount of force against the letters after a while to get them to register. The problem would be, because if you just pressed through your finger, the pressure sensitivity broke after a few months. And so I taught myself BASIC from that.
