Esther Reed disappeared in 1999 and was believed to be the Green River Strangler. She used an identity belonging to her ex-boyfriend's sister to get into college under a different name. As Natalie Bowman, she paid for tuition and board with merchandise return scam and credit card fraud. Esther told school that she was a victim of domestic abuse and wanted to conceal her identity. When it came time to start over again, she picked a new name: Brooke Henson.
