Lavinia and John are found guilty of robbing a bank. They plead not guilty, but the judge orders them to remain in old charleston jail until the trial. Then they try to escape by tying all the sheets together in a sheet ladder. Neverone is that ever works here. Once you get hanging, it's all gravy. Lavinia then walked out to get hung in her wedding dress. She believed people love to show up for hangings because 'that was like the thing to do' But john allows himself to be recaptured when he tries to take the heat off of her.
