Is It Fair to Read This as a Political Painting?

Kelsey: Is it fair to read this as a political painting, i think it would be an interesting interpretation. I remember from the painting of dog jumping up as well, like the jacobite prisoers returning home to their family for a time of peace,. and the red coat is letting them go. But i also suppose i see a little bit of defeat in there and alittle bit of hopelessness for the political cause. That's a really interesting way of reading the painting.
