Two thousand and one detroit tri centennial, 300 years after catalact pulled ashore. The gateway to freedom is actual sculpture. This was the last stop on the underground railroad. And symbolically, you see all those cameras up there, men, i call those the watchers,. You know, watchers up there. They say this is a giant gear. I jud called a sinker, a syncronization gear, to be precise. But the true gateway was to emerge, was the transcending gateway. That's what we're looking for in these pieces of art. We want people to feel like they can walk through them as if they were portals or gateways.
