Jonah's Prayer
Jona speaks of those who paid regard to vain idols, forsaking their hope of steadfast love. Many commentators do not have a favorable impression of jonah's prayer. To what extent should it be regarded as sincere? Should we perceive a sub text in verse eight referring to the pagan sailors or to the pagan of the city of nineveh?
