"I've always been interested in history and all things," says the author. "When I discovered that you could actually study such a thing at university, I didn't even think twice" He went up to start writing about this phenomenon that in literature is called Greek colonisation. One of his earliest excavations was in Ukraine, the ancient city of Albiya which is now in the news.
