The Aton Embassie

Tent embassy was set up in 19 72 to enable aboriginal people to talk to the federal government about political issues. It stood for 11 months before coming down when goth whitlam was elected as prime minister. Whitlam visited the embassy and publicly promised legislation for avoriginal land rights under a future labor government. He' actually came over and spoke to the people that were here camped, and made some commitment in relation to legislative changes if he was voted in.
