The Lesjourn Honor: A System of Patronage in Napoleonic France
I'm not sure that you can describe Napoleon as a child of the revolution, seeing as he goes on to try and establish a hereditary monarchy in France. It seems kind of counter-revolutionary to me. But what he replaces it with is his own system of patronage. And people talk about things like the lesjourned honor but there's a lot of cronyism in Napoleonic France.
