Do Scans Really Reassure Patients?

There is little evidence that scans help reassure s. In fact there is more evidence they can do the opposite and cause more fear, anxt and harm. The common misconception is that the scan is the thing that is or isn't reassuring a patient. It's actually the formation and explanations given from the scan that are helpful or harmful. If findings are explained rationally and reasonably with the findings described in clear and easy to understand language, then yes, i can find scans can be hugely reassuring for somepat. But if ascan's findings are read to a patient using unclear and confusing medical jargon, without any context, then they can absolutely scare the living shit out of people. When medical images
