Don't even worried about buying the dip. Buy on the way up, buying the way down and just focus on the long term. If you can do that, it makes the need to time the market irrelevant. Stocks trade in the short term based on enthusiasm, excitement, optimism and, yes, a little bit of greed. The herd mentality is a real thing. There are long periods of time when investors are extremely excited to be buying stock. They are willing to pay higher and higher prices to own stock.
