When I feel an emotion, I don't automatically react. I put a gate between stimulus and response. That's what emotions are to me. Emotions are information. It's your body's way of telling you that something has upset or provoked your evolutionary ancestors - but whether you choose to believe it is up to you. You never be controlled by emotions, but understand that they're telling you something about the present environment. If somebody angers you, basically your ancient ancestors are telling you that a line has been crossed.
