Our gut is really the barrier that protects a lot of those harmful pathogens from coming in. It functions as a huge part of our nervous system. If you have any sensitivities or if you have any allergies to foods and you like continuously, you know, eat them, or maybe let's say you're eating food that is bad. That can cause inflammation in the gut. And so sometimes what happens over time, if you do have a lot of inflammation, is that it can cause what's known as leaky gut. The gaps that lie within the digestive tract actually that are meant to be closed to help protect things from getting into the body can actually open a little bit.
