The Supreme Court's Decision in the University of California v. Bocke
In 1978, the Supreme Court of California declared UC Davis's affirmative action program to be unlawful. But 45 years ago, the United States Supreme Court saw things a lot differently. The court said that any affirmative action policy must fulfill a compelling governmental purpose. And there must be no less restrictive means that will also fill that goal.
