Is the Papa Gana a Young Version of the Prince?

Lee: The opera has lasted so long because it speaks on an unconscious level to things that we all live with. In the prince is sort of an adolescent type of character. He falls sexual romantic love with the photograph. And then the papa gana is, I think I write in my chapter that he's thinking of a papa gano if he ever gets a papaGana and they'll just have kind of a slumber fest. Lee: Why don't we turn to the music, you have four brief examples that demonstrate not only the characters, but the power of the music to make a point about the unconscious life of the characters or ourselves.
