Analogue Computers - What's the Bridge?
In the 19 forties we had all this analogue, a hardware lyne around after the war. A few odd balls figured out how to use this analogue equipment to build digital computers. The big internet companies are effectively doing in a sort of unconscious way. They're starting to compute with continuous functions rather than discreet functions. It's far more robust to operate on the pulse frequency or amplitude of the signal instead of the exact meaning of each bit.
