Miki Nakasone and Hato Yamayichiro

Miki settled on Hato Yamayichiro as his choice from the Nakasone faction, specifically for the role of Finance Minister. There was some grumbling within the party because LDP jobs are usually handed out on the basis of seniority. He had no background in foreign policy and at any rate was such a soft-spoken and non-confrontational guy that he didn't do great around high-powered diplomatic types. The Foreign Ministry was also ministerial work on hard mode because politically it was one of the weakest sectors of the bureaucracy.
