All of Latin America is a political economic disaster, it really is. I think that Argentina will turn out as badly as Venezuela though. The problem with something like oil is that all that wealth in one place, the parasites just can't help but gather around it and try to save it. But Argentina, on the other hand, is an agricultural country with big estancias, cattle and grain. Those things don't draw the criminal class, quite the way oil deposits do.
