Union Carbide's Bhopal Disaster

Up to half a million people suffered from exposure. The UCC chairman and CEO Warren Anderson was arrested but released on bail by the Madhya Parish Police in Bhopal on December 7th. A lawsuit against him was filed in 1999 seeking civil remedies for crimes against humanity,. But it was dismissed 13 years later and in 2014, Anderson passed away. This disaster has been treated like a traffic accident. It's a judicial disaster. Accidents do happen, but there were so many warning signs. And I don't want anyone to forget that it was UCC that demanded this branch produce these chemicals in the first place without ensuring proper safety measures.
