The Swift team has talked actually before about how in his ideal world, you know, the Swift type checker would be a sort of like optional step that runs on top of Swift. And I think that would be really cool, but I'm not sure if it's actually feasible given that the way that Swift is implemented. Personally, I probably do prefer using Swift for scripting rather than something like Python or Bash.
