You've got connective tissue, which is to wrap, bind and anchor. You've got nervous tissue, basically there for communication. And then finally, you've got epithelial tissue, which lines hollow structures. It basically forms barriers between environments.
One of the four tissue types of the body, epithelia lines and protects our organs from the external and internal environment. In this episode, Dr Matt & Dr Mike explain how the different shape and layers of epithelia tell you what function it performs (form = functions) and highlight examples in the body where you can find each type. They also explore cancer, metaplasia, dysplasia, and Dr Matt's mums skin cancer diagnosis and surgery.
