Time discounting is basically that we value something less the further out into the future that we perceive it to be for us. We really discount the value of something if we have to wait for it at all, versus waiting for it zero. The expedential growth bias affects a lot of things including our decisions about health and work. And this one is just wicked powerful. Our brains do not have a handle on what a difference it makes for things to compound overtime. If i practise my guitar every day, how much better will I be? It's not linear.
