How Do You Cope With Suffering?
Richard Schweter says that his studies of how secular people handle suffering is they do borrow from other belief systems. Victor Frankel, for example, in his great book, Man Search for Meaning, was a Jewish psychiatrist that survived Auschwitz. He said it wasn't just that people got gassed. A lot of people just died before they were ever put into the ovens or into the, before they were executed. The people he said who survived, usually were people who got more religious.
