Is Base Load a Good Idea?

There was basically two kinds of power generation. There was there's base load, which is big, hunken power plants that take quite a while to start up and shut down. And then there's so-called peakers that they can be turned on and off more rapidly. So you want them to run as flat out as possible because turning them on off is extremely time consuming and costly.
