The Church of St Mary Wilnoff in London
Many of the early religious buildings in London consciously made the connection with Jerusalem. The Knights Templar, who were a religious order of knights under vows, built these round churches to evoke the temple. And then later church, post-reformation churches in London, again, echoes constantly of holy sites elsewhere. So again, London constantly reminding its citizens of their part in a bigger world and a bigger story.
