I remember growing up in the 90s, even here. There was at once a hyper-sexualized culture and an extremely punitive tabloid energy about aggressively criticizing girls who engage in it. And I think we're starting to see a reaction against many of those things. But we do know that this is still going on. So many police forces are still not recording ethnicity. Many of the perpetrators have gone away with it. It won't change until the national conversation I'm trying to restart happens properly and fully.
