The Tension Between Politicians and the NHS
There's always a tension between the politicians wanting something eye grabbing and saying something different. It was yet another example of the sort of bombastic Boris Johnson which is claimed something big. But obviously as people started to probe it wasn't 40 new hospitals that were being allocated into this. And I think that creates a bit of a false narrative with the public as well that they think you can only fix things with bold claims of big projects rather than doing the hard work even if it takes time.
