Trade Rats - What Would You Have Done Differently?

I think one of the best things we could have done was to really have beefed up and expanded our trade adjustment assistance program. We always paid attention to people who had concerns, and we tried to address them. It was just really hard to do because in these trade agreements, there are people and stake holders that benefit, there are others that are left behind. But again, i think by the time t p p came around, it was such a long negotiation, that over time, we were questioning what we were the issues we were pursuing.
