Introduction

Tiberius was born in 168 BC to Tiberius Grocos the Elder and Cornelia Afrikana. His father had spent much of his life in service to Rome, and was a rarely seen figure at the family estate. After serving in North Africa, Tiberius was stationed in Spain, which had yet to be incorporated as an official Roman province. During this period, there was trouble around Numantia, and Tiberius served in the legions dispatched to break up a revolt.
