The Power of Relationship in Gender Trouble
I wouldn't know how to relate it back to gender trouble. I mean, I do think in gender trouble, there's a lot of repudiation going on. A very rigid heterosexual person would just say, well, that's not a possible modality. At which point, gayness or bisexuality becomes an existential threat to that person. How does that play out socially? That's definitely there in gender trouble. For me, always an ambivalent tie is the basis of the moral dilemma we face as social creatures,. Whether to destroy those bonds or not.
