Cromwell's Conquest of Wexford
Cromwell launched an Irish campaign from 1649 to 1650 to put down English royalists. The overall conquest effort went on for years until 1653, which Catholicism was officially banned. Priests were killed and Catholic land was taken and given to Scottish and English soldiers.
