What Do You Owe the Other Side?

What we owe the other side kind of sets off an alarm bell in my head. And i'm sort of both concerned by that tendency and also just quite interested, like, why do we need to feel the need to pretend that everyone deep down is a reasonable liberal, when clearly they're not? I think there's just so obviously a great deal of truth to that. On the left, i think we can be quite obsessed with purity. Am in the advocacy of our ideas. How does that san to you?
