The Importance of Discipline in Love

We need to transfer an actual relationship with another person, which is what this push in pole allows. There has to be sort of a pre-disciplined id or whatever that is out of control to get things started. Otherwise, shame would just make it so that we wouldn't have this opportunity to better our souls. We need to have both the moving toward and the moving away. If it's all moving toward, you destroy the object. So we need an in-between here. This whole idea of discipline and lover, we get that sense of improvement but there's a lot more detail on how it can improve the beloved.
