Deep Learning Systems Are Not Understanding Themselves
Ai system is going through reasoning steps and drawing on knowledge that is sort of analogous to the way the human might work on the problem. But what we're finding wi of these deep learning systems is that they recognize the breed of dog by looking at the color of the carpet. And clearly, in that case, you would say, no, it doesn't really understand what norfolk terrier means because it's not even looking at the damned dog. So this is pretty clear evidence that the deep learning systems are not understanding the images in a robust way like humans do.
