The Life of Walt Whitman in the 18 Forties
Whitman was the son of a carpenter, and he too wanted to devote his life to literature. While longfellow was writing slike the skeleton in armor and the song of hiawatha, whitman was finding work as a printer and a hack wrider and a teacher. When he taught, he was run out of town. The rumor later ran that he had been tarred and feather let's take a quick break and dive into the life of walt whitman in the 18 forties.
