The Importance of Oversight in the Immigration System
In many ways, that's been the big success of Brexit is that by taking sort of full control of the immigration system. The debate there is just about are they letting in too many people? What's the trade off there? On asylum seekers, it's a very different situation. We're processing far fewer people than we ever have before. And to me, that's because we've had a series of totally incompetent home secretaries who have taken their eye off the ball and focused on a big headline splashing policies like Rwanda.
