In 2014, the average cost of insurance for a worker was $6,500 a year and the incentives are worth between $2,000 and $3,200. This is in the Affordable Care Act. That increased the incentives to 30%. So like we're talking about a lot of money. Like that's what my first car cost. Holy shit. It's fascinating to me too, because I think this is one of the major narratives that drives our understanding of and response to fat people in the world.
