Victim Blaming in the Workplace
Victim blaming is a defence mechanism, particularly if we see ourselves as similar to the victim. We have a tendency to look to that victim and think there must be something in their character or their makeup that makes them a victim. So I think making people aware that victim blaming is quite a natural kind of psychological defence mechanism can then help us put the brakes on when we are tempted to victim blame.
