Putin's Assassination of a Russian Journalist

Putin won a farce of an election in 2004, taking 71.9% of the vote to his nearest competitors, 13.8%. Since Putin's rise to power, Russia had become the third most dangerous country in the world to be a reporter. The first high profile anti-Putin reporter to be assassinated and Anna Politzkovskaya, she was killed on Putin's birthday. Another of his harshest critics was killed in literal view of the fucking Kremlin.
